Many disputes can be avoided by properly documenting agreements before you start.

• If a contractor fails to act competently and according to contract your agreement may set the course for dispute resolution by arbitration.


• Take early legal advice. Some problems can be solved without resort to Court. Either way we can help.


• In any event you should have the work assessed by a professional to ensure preservation of evidence, particularly if you elect to complete the repairs or work with a replacement contractor.


• If a lien is filed there are strict time limits. Generally the lien must be filed within 45 days of substantial completion or abandonment.
